Two pre-natal visits, either at your home or other place of your choice

As many telephone contacts as you wish

On-call service by cell phone starting two weeks prior to your due date

Continuous presence during your labor (I can come to you as soon as you think you are in labor and are ready for support-at your home first or at the hospital)

Continuous presence throughout the delivery and immediate postpartum stage (as soon as you and baby are settled and ready for quiet time-usually one to two hours)

Help with establishing breastfeeding if you wish

A home visit at one or two weeks postpartum to review the birth experience (and to admire the baby of course!)

Also, at pre-natal visits I can provide other pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and newborn information and resources as required. I can help you establish a birth plan, discuss with you any fears or concerns you may have and also go over each of our roles at the birth. I can also provide references from previous clients if you wish. I always bring a camera to births and if you like I can take pictures of those precious moments following the birth of your child and your brand new family. I have an ever-expanding lending library of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding books that you may borrow and can provide you with a list of other area doulas should wish. Don’t be shy, I want you to have the best birth experience possible and if that means you choosing another doula then I am happy to help you find the best match. Most important of all, this is your birth.
